Carol Ward, MD

Dr. Ward is a geriatric psychiatrist based out of Kamloops, BC.  She is the Interior Health (IH) authority Medical Director for Geriatric Psychiatry,  Assistant Clinical Professor with the Department of Psychiatry at UBC and a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Geriatric Psychiatry Sub-specialty Committee.  Her passion for teaching is supported by being co-chair of the IH and UBC P.I.E.C.E.S.TM initiatives, developing and delivering accredited workshops for physicians on dementia-related responsive behaviours, being the specialist lead for a Specialist Services Committee project to enhance geriatric psychiatry support within IH residential care and serving on the Clinical Advisory group for the Call for Less Antipsychotic Use in Residential Care (CLeAR) provincial initiative.  Her current clinical work is with the tertiary mental health team and in-reach residential care consultation.
